Undefeated DI college basketball teams in 2022-23

Undefeated Ohio State continues climb in Power 10 women's basketball rankings

We're tracking the undefeated teams in DI college basketball this season for as long as they can keep their records perfect.

UConn is the most recent women's team to complete an undefeated season by cutting down the nets, going 38-0 in 2015-16.

Men's basketball hasn't seen a perfect season since 1975-76 with 32-0 Indiana. There won't be a perfect season in 2022-23 either. New Mexico — the last undefeated men's team in DI — lost to Fresno State, 71-67, on Jan. 3.

Here are the remaining undefeated DI teams this season, along with current records and some guesses at what their toughest games remaining might be. We focused mostly on records to pick the toughest opponents, though it is (of course) far from a sure thing that another team won't jump up and give one of these undefeated teams a first loss.

Toughest tests remaining (on paper): vs. Arkansas (Sunday, Jan. 22); at UConn (Sunday, Feb. 5); vs. LSU (Sunday, Feb. 12)

South Carolina breezed through the first part of its schedule, facing trouble only against Stanford and UCLA but still coming out on top. The defending champs stayed perfect until Dec. 30 last year when they suffered their only regular season loss pre-conference tournament. The Gamecocks are still flawless past the new year this season, cruising past Missouri with an 81-50 win on Jan. 15, and its biggest remaining test may come against last year’s runner-up UConn on Feb. 5.
